About the musician
Award winning Italian singer, songwriter Chiara Izzi is creating a remarkable impact in the New York jazz scene, having had already the chance to perform in prominent venues like Iridium, Apollo Theater, Smalls, Bar Next Door, with some of the finest musicians like Kevin Hays, Eliot Zigmund, Warren Wolf, Anthony Wonsey, etc. Jazz Times has described her as “a talent to be heard, admired and anticipated” after the release of her debut album “Motifs” that received exciting reviews in Europe and US. In 2011 Chiara was awarded first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival Vocal Competition by the living musical legend Quincy Jones, and following this award she was invited to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2012 opening Paco de Lucìa’s concert. Thanks to an unstoppable live activity Chiara has developed a unique sound that allows her to take inspiration from different genres (jazz, pop, mediterranean sounds) and make music through a brilliant and personal way of singing.
Passion. Joy. Love. Life. These words only begin to describe Claude Diallo‘s musical universe. Inspired by Oscar Peterson’s fiery music, the young pianist was turned on to his true love- Jazz! Claude lives between New York and Switzerland and recorded over 15 albums under his own name. With his own band Claude Diallo Situation he travels around the world and presents his unique compositions and singular style of playing to a loyal audience. Claude Diallo met Chiara Izzi through the Montreux Jazz Competition. He was the finalist of the 2009 competition and Chiara won the 2011 competition. Together they were allowed to record a free album in the renowned Balik Farm Studios in Switzerland where they met for the first time in 2012. Since then, Chiara and Claude regularly perform together in N.Y.

Besides his carrier like leader and composer, he leads four different bands under his name, the bass player Rosario Bonaccorso has been and is still involved with many famous artist like: Enrico Rava, Elvin Jones, Benny Golson, Billy Cobham, Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker, Stefano Bollani, Joe Lovano, Stefano Di Battista, Mark Turner, Gato Barbieri, James Moody, Lee Konitz, Clark Terry, Franco Ambrosetti, Slide Hampton, Kenny Barron, Jimmy Cobb… recording more then 60 cds for major record labels such as ECM, Blue Note, Verve, Label Bleu, Universal, Giando Music, PMR and playing on prestigious international stages, including New York, Tokyo, Paris, Rio De Janeiro, la Scala di Milano, Auditorium di Roma, Vienna State Opera.
